EU delays corporate tax proposals
The European Union (EU) has run into difficultiesregarding a proposal that would result in all member states adopting the same method of calculating corporate taxes.
The proposal was due to be finalised this Autumn, but problems over certain aspects have led to work being temporarily halted.
Laszlo Kovacs, a tax commissioner from the EU commented that some, “detailed technical areas” required further study.
The Commission, based in Brussles, Belguim, is advocating a common consolidated corporate tax base.
