Hays accounting division sees profits fall

The specialist accountancy and finance section of Hays recruitment comapany has seen its operating profits fall.

This is in direct contrast to the company’s overall performance, which saw the company report a %25 increase in pre-tax profits, with net fees rising to just under £787m.

The accountancy and finance section of Hays saw revenues rise from £164m last year to £178m, but operating profit fell by 3%.

The company released a statement saying, ”Currently, in the United Kingdom demand for temporary placements has flattened out and we are experiencing falling demand for permanent placements.”

Hays operates in over 25 countries and is a market leader in the UK, with over £1.5bn of its turnover coming from the UK and Ireland.
